Apple Calendar (iCloud)

Shared family calendar on iPhone

iPhone family calendar, with someone watching it

Your shared iCloud calendar holds everyone's stuff. Publish it as a link and the assistant can read it, spot the Thursday triple-booking and tell you before Thursday. iCloud calendars can be shared as a public read-only link. The assistant reads that link. It can't change your iCloud events directly, so it suggests changes for you to make.

What you’ll need

  • The app account you already use
  • Your family calendar (Google, Apple or Outlook)
  • About 10 minutes

Steps

  1. Sign in to Apple Calendar (iCloud) on the website or app, the same way you normally do.
  2. Open the app’s Settings, Calendar or Schedule area and look for words like “Subscribe,” “Sync calendar,” “Export” or “iCal.”
  3. Copy the calendar link it gives you. It usually starts with webcal:// or https://.
  4. Open your family calendar and choose “Add calendar” then “From URL” (or “Subscribe”). Paste the link and save.
  5. Wait a few minutes, then check that a few Apple Calendar (iCloud) events appear on your calendar.
  6. Tell Grok Bot: “Watch my Apple Calendar (iCloud) calendar and warn me about changes.”
Stuck? Try this: No calendar link anywhere? Search the app’s help pages for “calendar sync.” Some programs only offer it on the website, not the phone app.

How Grok Bot connects

Calendar sync: the app publishes a calendar link (often called a feed, subscribe link or iCal link). Once that link is added to your family calendar, Grok Bot reads the events from there.
