PowerSchool
Grades, attendance, report cards
Know about the zero before the teacher emails
PowerSchool can email you grade and attendance alerts, but they read like a spreadsheet. The assistant turns them into one sentence: "Maya got a 0 on Tuesday's quiz, and it looks like it was never turned in." With email alerts on, the assistant reads PowerSchool's notices. When you want more, it can look up the parent portal after you sign in yourself, and it never submits anything.
What it handles for you
- Plain-English summaries of grade and attendance alerts
- An unexcused-absence or tardy flag the same day, not at conference time
- On request, a portal check of current grades by class
Set it up, step by step
No tech experience needed. Take it one step at a time.
What you’ll need
- Your PowerSchool account
- The email inbox it sends to
- About 10 minutes, plus a one-time sign-in
Steps
- Turn on email notifications in PowerSchool’s Settings or Notifications area.
- Make sure they go to the inbox you connected to Grok Bot.
- When Grok Bot needs the website, it will open a sign-in screen on its own computer. You type your password yourself. Never paste it into chat.
- Approve each action when Grok Bot asks, for example “Book this time?” or “Pay this?”
- Tell Grok Bot what to watch, for example: “Remind me two days before anything is due in PowerSchool.”
Stuck? Try this: Sign-in asks for a code? That’s normal. Enter it on the sign-in screen yourself. Grok Bot never needs to see it.
How Grok Bot connects
Email plus browser help: Grok Bot reads PowerSchool’s emails, and with your OK it can use the PowerSchool website in its own browser after you sign in yourself. It always asks before it submits, books or pays.
